AccuHealth has developed a connected digital health environment by offering comprehensive hardware and software solutions to clinics, benefiting both practitioners and patients. The primary goal is to reduce the burden on clinicians and streamline documentation for doctors. Additionally, this solution generates a significant volume of critical data, enhancing the ability to provide patients with on-demand and improved healthcare services. To handle this massive data scale of over 400k transactions per day, AccuHealth was looking for a cloud-native solution that is highly available, scalable, secure, performant, and cost-effective. The client sought an effective and efficient EHR system that enabled practitioners to retrieve accurate and necessary data from a large data pool at the right time. Moreover, they aim to achieve robust infrastructure management support and cost vs performance balance.

AccuHealth, a healthcare technology company with over 50 years of operational experience, has created the first Healthcare Operations Center for Remote Patient Monitoring. AccuHealth developed a market-leading solution built on enterprise-grade tools to meet the needs of clinics of any scale. Their telehealth solutions for Remote Patient Monitoring include payer integration, secure instant messaging, video calls, and EHR integration. This allows clinics to stay within their EHR ecosystem, seamlessly monitoring and virtually connecting with patients to improve care, satisfaction, and loyalty. Their solution enhances primary physician care both in clinical settings and at home. With access to real-time vital information, physicians can improve patient outcomes, increase satisfaction, and boost clinic revenue.

Offering
AccuHealth offers doorstep delivery of Remote Health Medical hardware with EHR integration. Since EHR integration automates data entry, the company requires a highly available, reliable, and efficient infrastructure. To achieve infrastructure automation, we utilized AWS Lambda, which charges based on the execution time required for code to run. This approach reduces manual efforts and delivers precise, necessary results. Additionally, the systems are integrated with 400 AWS CloudWatch alarms and AWS Athena, enabling self-monitoring and automatic issue resolution.
AccuHealth ensured connected health monitoring while complying with healthcare regulatory policies like HIPAA. Successively implemented Perimeter81 in the project to set up a VPN, enhancing network security and providing a unified platform for secure access to local network resources, applications, and AWS cloud infrastructure. This solution helps AccuHealth achieve robust security capabilities based on the Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) model.
AWS cloud solutions not only meet AccuHealth’s current technology requirements but also automatically scale to meet real-time demand, enhancing performance and availability for its users. Additionally, we utilized best-in-class AWS services that reduce downtime and enable the company to manage its business operations proactively.
AccuHealth generates significant data from all business functions. This data is not only extensive but also valuable for gathering intelligence to improve business operations. We integrated Splunk with AccuHealth to monitor, search, analyze, and visualize machine-generated data in real-time. Splunk captures, indexes, and correlates real-time data in a searchable container, producing graphs, alerts, dashboards, and visualizations. This ensures seamless access to data throughout the organization, facilitating easy diagnostics and solutions to various business challenges.
Successive modernized the AccuHealth platform by implementing Amazon SNS, which streamlined contacting, connecting, and communicating between practitioners and patients. Amazon SNS provides real-time notification capabilities, enhancing the efficiency of telehealth services and supporting AccuHealth’s hyper-connected nature.
AccuHealth’s solutions are built, distributed, and deployed across over 70 EC2 instances. Comprehensive measures have been implemented to ensure these instances perform reliably, even during a disaster. The strategic deployment of applications on EC2 instances ensures that AccuHealth remains operational and capable of serving its users continuously.
Successive Digital has developed the solution using 100% of AWS native services to avoid dependency on third-party vendors or providers.
Successive designed the solution with a focus on both cost-efficiency and performance. To keep costs low, we adopted a pay-as-you-go model and utilized serverless technologies to avoid charges for idle computing capacity. This approach supports handling over 400,000 transactions daily and includes an architecture that can automatically scale to meet future demands.
