The client is a global provider of Maritime Software that enables fleet management, voyage performance analytics, and real-time operational intelligence for shipping companies worldwide. Serving thousands of commercial, tanker, and cargo vessels, the platform helps operators monitor voyages, optimize fuel efficiency, predict ETAs, strengthen safety, and streamline shore–ship collaboration. With more than 13,000 vessels already using this solution, it became a mission-critical system for charterers, navigators, performance analysts, and marine operations teams who rely on fast, accurate data to drive decisions. But as adoption surged, scalability limits and technical debt surfaced-revealing an urgent need for modernization.
Although the platform continued to expand, cracks began to show. Software releases slowed dramatically, bugs outpaced fixes, and requested features could not be supported by the legacy architecture. Infrastructure costs continued to rise without improvements in performance. Analytics existed across fragmented systems, and customer service as well as MetOps teams lacked technical depth to assist users efficiently. It was clear that stability and modernization were now business-critical – not optional.
Successive Digital partnered with the client as a Software development company delivering Product Engineering Services and Digital Transformation consulting. The team performed a comprehensive platform assessment and built a product & technology roadmap focused on unifying operations, scaling infrastructure, and accelerating performance. Key initiative pillars included:
We built a single mobile interface to replace fragmented tools—giving users real-time fleet visibility, voyage insights, and ETA predictions in one intuitive screen.
We automated onboarding across 200+ disparate platforms, enabling high-speed data integration into a unified enterprise data environment and removing legacy bottlenecks.
We leveraged 200 TB of structured and unstructured data, unified schemas, and enhanced APIs to power predictive safety, sustainability, and fuel-efficiency insights.
We deployed real-time dashboards and proactive monitoring, enabling teams to detect issues instantly and improving visibility across 120+ countries and 720+ offices.
